Dear Google,
I am not a spammer. I’m a guy trying to inform 500 people in the Richmond .Net and SQL Server Developer Communities about upcoming meetings and events of interest to them. To protect their privacy and my sanity, I keep their email addresses in a Google Email Group and BCC that group each time I send them an email.
The new email sending limits seem to be working fine when used against me, but my spam folder still receives more email than my inbox – and that’s saying something: I receive a bit of email.
Is there a way to create a “white list” of some sort so I can contact the developer community without losing the privilege of sending email for 24 hours at a time?

A more pressing question… Did Google actually fire out those emails to everyone?
Yep. GMail sent the messages, I am just locked out of sending until tomorrow.

I recently attended a semianr on email marketing and learned that upto 40% of ligit emails are blocked by ISPs. That’s why I use Constant Contact for my eNewsletter. They cut have good communication with the IPss and their block rate is less than 2%.

Having to send mass e-mails in today’s spam infested world is a problem… I think that the better solution (for all parties) is to use blog posts and RSS readers, so that people who want to get the information get it, you don’t have to work hard to email them, and if anyone wants to stop receiving the information, again it’s less work…
Since you already have a blog, you just have to make sure and educate the people in the community to use feed readers 🙂
