Adam Machanic (Blog | @AdamMachanic) emailed me way back in July 2007 and asked if I’d be interested in joining the awesome crew blogging at SQLBlog.com. I was honored to be asked and loved the idea of joining the bloggers here (“A group of really smart SQL Server bloggers… plus me”).
And wow – this is my 700th post at SQLBlog!
Thank you, everyone who reads this blog! I believe I get more out of writing these posts than readers get from reading them, but I regularly hear from readers – via email and the comments – who share their feedback and appreciation.. There’s no greater compliment for a blogger than to learn something they wrote helped someone else.
My first post titled SSIS Design Pattern – Incremental Loads went live 9 Jul 2007, almost eight years ago. That post has been viewed 191,535 times. I find that overwhelming, but that’s not the most-read post over the past seven years. That distinction belongs to This Isn’t Hard: Allow Spouses to Attend Conferences with 472,217 reads.
Here’s to the next eight years and posts 701-1400!

Congrats, Andy! You are a rock star. My most-viewed post received only 120k hits to date. Glad I sent that email way back when 🙂
