I’ve been interested in data engineering code generation and automation for years. I was recently treated to a demo of AnalyticsCreator, a product I had hitherto not heard of.
I was impressed with the live demo delivered by an in-house engineer. The engineer connected to a source database, selected several tables for import, selected a data warehouse output architecture, customized some of the source data, viewed relationships gleaned from table metadata, and then generated a first draft visualization of the data warehouse:
I find the visualization self-documenting and compelling.
From the draft EDW visualization, additional customization is supported. When ready, ETL and EDW metadata is stored for future modification. The target EDW may next be generated and deployed, along with an SSIS project containing a generated ETL solution.
AnalyticsCreator doesn’t stop there, the tool also creates a Power BI Semantic Model. You can view a similar demo here. I find AnalyticsCreator a powerful ETL and Enterprise Data Warehouse code-gen platform.
Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments.
