I’m excited to announce Enterprise Data & Analytics has an AI Engineer.
I’m more excited to announce that EDNA’s AI Engineer is my older son, Stephen Leonard!
I’ve mentioned I starting vide coding in earnest in March of this year (2025). The (released) results are free utilities now available at Data Engineering Lifecycle Management Suite. A few months after I started, the company where Stephen had worked for over 2.5 years was purchased by a different company, and the different company laid off most of the employees and basically shut down Stephen’s former company (these things happen).
Since he had some time, I convinced Stephen to join me in my vide-coding bet. I shared some of my ideas with him about how I might use AI to help build some applications. He grokked (pun intended) what I was saying, picking up what I was laying down, and so we started working together.
In short order, he began working Claude.ai ReST APIs.
He used the knowledge he gained and started building a way to spin up AI agents and have them communicate.
I shared: “Stephen? Anthropic released what you’re building a few weeks ago. It’s called MCP (Model Context Protocol).”
He dove into MCP and realized the concept could be expanded into multiple MCP’s, each interacting with a collection of AI agents.
I shared: “Stephen? Anthropic released MCP Servers last week.”
As someone with a history of pattern recognition, I began to, well, recognize a pattern. Stephen was independently and inherently understanding the power of AI agents – so much so that he was reproducing the work of a professional AI company within days of them releasing said work.
It made sense to add him to the team.
So I added him to them team!
Welcome, Stephen!
